FNESC is committed to supporting the important work of First Nation schools in British Columbia.

In partnership with the First Nations Schools Association, FNESC works to support the First Nation schools of British Columbia, providing programs and services, coaching, resources and advocacy.

Services to First Nation Schools

FNESC and the First Nations Schools Association have worked to establish an effective and relevant education system to support First Nation students and First Nation schools.

Jurisdiction

Through the education jurisdiction initiative, First Nations’ inherent rights to make laws related to the education of their students are formally recognized by the provincial and federal governments.

First Nation School Governing Authorities

FNESC and the First Nations Schools Association have been working to support First Nation School Governing Authorities through a range of information sharing activities.

First Nations Parents Club

For over two decades, FNESC and the First Nations Schools Association have organized a First Nations Parents Club to promote the key role of parents and caregivers in the educational success of their children.
